Obama Does not Want to enter North Korea to the State Sponsors of Terrorism List

U.S. President Barack Obama has decided not to re-enter North Korea (NK) to the list of countries considered the U.S. as a state supporter of terrorism.

And then in June 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has mentioned the possibility to re-enter North Korea to the list. This was in response to a nuclear test and missile that North Korea conducted recently. Some Republican senators have also urged North Korea to return to the list included.

But Obama had a different opinion. Obama delivered a decision about that in a letter sent to U.S. Congress leaders, who accompanied a confidential report on the behavior of North Korea between June 26, 2008 and 16 November 2009.

It said Obama, the report concluded that North Korea "does not meet the criteria according to the law to re-appointed as a state sponsor of terrorism." Such as reported by Reuters on Thursday (4/2/2010).

With this decision means that Mr Obama went on measures taken by his predecessor, former President George W. Bush. Bush has issued a North Korea from the list of countries supporting terrorism in October 2008. It is Bush's effort to keep the international negotiations over North Korea's nuclear disarmament does not fail.

Obama, who replaced Bush last year, continues to improve U.S. diplomacy to persuade North Korea back to the negotiating table to discuss nuclear disarmament.
